Hello Everyone! This past week I had the opportunity to take a great course from Tom McCarthy on forging at John C. Campbell Folk School in North Carolina. It was a terrific week with a class full of wonderful and talented metal smith students. I was inspired throughout the week and came away with new knowledge. The week was spent forging, drawing wire, using the wire part of the rolling mill and making fibulas. Fun is the best way to sum up the week!
I will post a couple of pictures for everyone to see.

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope you all have a blessed, happy and healthy 2009.
Christmas was awesome this year and kept me so busy. The gallery opening in Water Valley was fun. The showing lasted about three weeks and was a success. Many from Oxford and the University of Mississippi came. With that particular show, completing Christmas orders, and getting jewelry to the National Ornamental Metal Museum gift shop in Memphis, I just about did myself in with tendonitis in my arm/elbow/wrist. It is much better with rest.
One fun sale that I had this year was from a man that called at 5 PM on Christmas Eve. I was in church and slipped out to return the call. He was writing the check for the piece an hour later. That was last minute shopping to the max but so much fun.
Soon I'll be attending a metal course in North Carolina. It should be a good one and will be taught by Tom McCarthy. He is a wonderful teacher and I always learn so much form him.
I wanted to add a picture of a new collection of earrings that I fabricated for Christmas. Some love the longer earrings and I decided to make something in that line. I will post one pair but I made several different styles in the longer version. They were beautiful and fun to make. I also made a shorter version for those that desire not to have them that long.

Once again, best wishes for a fabulous 2009. Take Care!
